"X-MEN FIRST CLASS"..BEST X-MEN MOVIE EVER?

X-Men: First Class was the number one movie at the box office weekend, knocking off last week's winner (and box office record-breaker), The Hangover Part II!

The movie made $21 million on Friday and is predicted to make about $50-60 million by the end of the weekend.

That's a solid number, but isn't quite as impressive as the franchise's previous movies, which totaled around $160 million.

Not sure why the movie isn't doing better. It's been getting great reviews, but it seems like this movie hasn't been promoted as well as a comic movie with a legion of fans should have.

Now, I am not a big movie critic and I certainly do not try to be one.  But, when I saw this movie over the weekend I knew I had to share the fever with those who, not only love the Marvel comic book series, but with those who can also appreciate a good action movie.

It has everything you need in a classic comic book flick from unexpected cameos and surprises to intense scenes of dramatic action that leave you ewith your mouth open.  (The coin scene towards the end, by the way, was CHILLING!)  I am STILL thinking about the movie and its been three days since I have seen it so that should say something.

This movie does exactly the same thing to the X-men franchise series as "Batman Begins" did to the Batman movies...it revitalizes and primes the series into a whole new perspective.  So, if you are looking to check out an action movie that will not disappoint....let me suggest this one.

Meanwhile, here's the weekend's top 5 movies:

1. X-Men: First Class — $21.0 mil
2. The Hangover Part II — $10.5 mil
3. Kung Fu Panda 2 — $6.3 mil
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides — $5.1 mil
5. Bridesmaids — $3.6 mil
