The rumors were unleashed as soon as Jennifer Lopez announced her break up with hubby Mark Anthony. There were whispers of cheating and drug abuse but it seems the main reason was J-lo going back to work that put much of the strain on the relationship.
In an upcoming issue of Vanity Affair, Jennifer Lopez talks about the split and "still believes in love. I remain an eternal optimist about love," she tells VF. Making her family work "was my biggest dream, and I really worked hard at it. We both did." E! notes that most of the interview took place before the divorce was announced, but even in those portions, the signs are there. "We try" to balance work and family life, but "it's getting increasingly harder," Lopez says at one point, adding that when she started working again, things got "tough."

"Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves," she continues later. "To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself—if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now." Even so, she says she still respects Anthony and that "he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic—and we did. ... He will always hold a special place in my heart.” (Newser)
